Exercising in the comfort of your own home is both cost-effective and time-saving - no more having to trek to the gym or pay expensive membership fees!  It can also be rewarding and fun as you burn those calories away and tone your body for a healthier leaner you!

Schwinn AD2 versus Schwinn AD6 Airdyne Exercise Bike, Comparison Review

The Schwinn Airdyne AD2 and AD6 exercise bikes offer a unique full-body low-impact cardiovascular workout, synchronizing arm and leg motion, with moving handlebars and foot pedals.

Both the Schwinn AD2 and AD6 Airdyne Bikes are well-built and effectively offer unlimited resistance levels with their unique air/wind resistance system, which works on the premise that the faster you pedal the harder the resistance will be.

But how do you decide which Schwinn Airdyne bike is right for you?

The Schwinn AD6 is the higher-end Airdyne bike over the Schwinn AD2, with additional features/upgrades, including a more durable dual-stage Super Torque belt drive compared to the AD2's single-stage belt drive.

Both the Schwinn AD2 and AD6 Airdyne Bikes come with an easy-to-read LCD display which shows motivating workout stats such as time, distance, speed, calories burned.  The Schwinn AD6 is also telemetry enabled for your own heart-rate monitor - the AD2 doesn't have this feature.

The fan wheel on both these air bikes is fitted with a shroud for safety.  Both bikes have front and rear stabilizers for sturdy stability and front-mounted transportation wheels for easy portability.

The Schwinn AD2 and AD6 Airdyne Exercise Bikes are suitable for users of all fitness levels, allowing you to work at your own pace.  The seat on both bikes are height adjustable to fit different users.  There is a slight different in the user weight capacity for each bike, with the Schwinn AD2 allowing for a user weight capacity of up to 250 lbs, while the Schwinn AD6 allows for up to 300 lbs.

Overall, the Schwinn AD6 Airdyne Bike is built with better quality components, which is reflected in the longer warranty given by the manufacturer.  (See below for full features and specifications compared).

Counting How Many Calories Does Exercise Burn?

Here’s a list of exercises and how many calories they burn, depending on the amount of time spent performing them. Being physically active doesn’t necessarily mean having to sweat it out at the gym – you’ll be surprised how many calories you can burn performing everyday activities such as housework or gardening.  Besides the obvious benefits of exercising to burn calories (losing weight and improving the way you look), being physically more active also helps to boost your mood and helps to relieve stress.  Couple exercising with healthy eating, and you will not only help to control your weight, but you will help to reduce your risk of getting a variety of diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.

Workout with Low-Impact Exercises to Get Fit and Burn Calories

Low-impact exercises can prove to be a very effective way of getting fit and burning calories, without the risk of injury that comes with the more higher-impact workouts.  Low-impact exercises are much easier on the joints and are therefore less likely to cause impact-type injuries more common with high-impact workouts (such as sprains and tears to joints and cartilage).

Low-impact exercising can help to improve your overall health, lower the risk of heart disease, tone up the body, and burn calories.
