Bodyguard E45 versus Bodyguard E40 Elliptical Cross Trainer, Comparison Review

Both the Bodyguard E45 and Bodyguard E40 Elliptical Cross Trainers are constructed with quality commercial-grade components for long-lasting durability, making them suitable for both home and commercial use.

he Bodyguard E45 Cross Trainer has more bells and whistles than the Bodyguard E40 including a much wider range of programs/custom/intensity modes; displays a wider range of feedback stats on a blue LCD display instead of black/grey display; incorporates a media shelf and USB port which the E40 doesn’t have; offers compatibility with wireless heart-rate monitoring instead of just contact pulse grip; and more (see tables below for full features and specifications compared).

The Bodyguard E40 on the otherhand is designed for ease-of-use, so you can just get on and go without any complicated programs to figure out.  Its console has just 3 simple-to-use buttons – Go/Enter, Recover and Reset buttons.  The E40’s brake pad resistance is adjustable via an easy-to-use turn-dial resistance knob and it has just 4 programs – 1 manual and 3 race programs.

In addition, the Bodyguard E40 Elliptical Trainer actually has a much heavier flywheel than the E45.  The E40 has a precision-balanced 50 lb flywheel compared to the E45’s 16 lb flywheel, allowing for incredibly smooth momentum and effectively lowering perceived exertion.

Both the Bodyguard E45 and E40 Elliptical Cross Trainers offer a natural-feel 20” stride length and have a step-up height of 9.5”.  The Bodyguard cross trainers feature biomechanically correct footplates that are designed to minimize stress on the joints by correctly positioning the ankles in alignment with the knees and hips.  In addition, the footplates feature X-Comfort footpads for improved foot support and better blood circulation.

Both the Bodyguard E45 and E40 Elliptical Cross Trainers are built to withstand intensive training and allow for an extended user weight capacity of up to 350 lbs.

Premium build quality on both the Bodyguard E45 and E40 include industrial double sealed bearings in the hub, steel frame with rust-resistant powder coating, aluminum rear track, anddual concave wheels with wheel covers.

Both the Bodyguard E45 and E40 Elliptical Cross Trainers utilize self-generated power so you don’t have to worry about trying to find a space near a wall socket as there’s no electrical cord/plug - the console simply requires 2x AA batteries.
