The low-step through design of the Lifecore Fitness 1060RB and 860RB recumbent bikes make them easy to mount and dismount and both bikes have a 6-position height-adjustable back rest and a fore/aft quick-release seat adjustment to enable the user to find the most comfortable fit possible.  The seats on both these recumbent bikes are extremely comfortable with an over-sized foam saddle with vented cushion and air mesh seat back (see pictures for the difference in the air mesh design of each seat-back – the 1060RB offers a commercial-grade mesh seat-back plus 3-position tilt).

So how do the Lifecore Fitness 1060RB and 860RB Recumbent Bikes differ?  The Lifecore Fitness 1060RB is the higher-end model of the two bikes and offers more workout programs and resistance levels than the 860RB (the 1060RB offers 47 programs compared to the 860RB’s 22, and 32 magnetic resistance levels compared to 16).

The Lifecore 1060RB’s console features a multi-window LED display compared to the 860RB’s single-window with different control-button layouts (see pictures).  Both offer 2 User Profiles and feature a Smart Device Station to hold your mobile phone or tablet.

Both the Lifecore 1060RB and 860RB feature heart-rate sensors in the handlebars, but the Lifecore 1060RB also offers Polar compatibility.

Both the Lifecore Fitness 1060RB and 860RB Recumbent Bikes feature Hi-Fidelity 3-watt built-in speakers with MP3 connectivity as well as an on-board USB charger.

Additional features of the Lifecore Fitness 1060RB include a 3-speed built-in fan and dual-cup holders which the 860RB doesn’t have.

As you would expect, with the extra features of the higher-end model, the Lifecore Fitness 1060RB retails at a higher price than the Lifecore Fitness 860RB, so you have to decide whether you think the extra features are relevant to you and worth paying out the extra cash for!

Useful tip:  Just a 30 minute cycling workout could burn between 207-345 calories for women, or 252-420 calories for men, depending on the intensity of the cycling.

Summary:

Both the Lifecore Fitness 1060RB and 860RB are solidly built recumbent bikes.  For many people, the Lifecore Fitness 860RB would be more than adequate for their needs, with plenty of programs and resistance levels to keep you challenged and motivated.  It has a slightly smaller footprint than the 1060RB and would therefore be ideal for home use.  Choosing the Lifecore 860RB would save you around $700 of your hard-earned cash!

However, if you like the idea of lots more variety in your workouts or want more of a challenge, then the Lifecore Fitness 1060RB would be a better choice for you with its extra workout programs and resistance levels.  Remember that the Lifecore 1060RB has a slightly larger footprint than the 860RB but is built to withstand more of a pounding, being suitable for both home and light-commercial use.

  1. Great review, but what is the weight limit for each of these bikes? 250? 350?? I can't find that information ANYWHERE.

    1. Hi Deannarose. That information isn't available at the present time. As a guide, the previous models 850RB & 1050RB have a user weight capacity of up to 300 lbs. I'll update as and when more info becomes available.
