Both the Octane Fitness xR6x and xR4x Recumbent Ellipticals are extremely well-built machines and offer a great range of resistance and programs to keep both beginners and advanced users happy. There are 20 resistance levels and 6 programs including manual, random, interval, beginner, distance goal and calorie goal.
For even more of a challenge, both the xR6x and xR4x feature Octane’s signature Workout Boosters (X-Mode, Leg Press, Chest Press) for the more experienced athlete looking to perform HIIT training, combining cross-training with strength training for improved results.
The X-Mode booster offers random intervals directed by the built-in personal trainer. The Chest Press booster offers focused intervals for toning your arms, shoulders and chest muscles. The Leg Press booster offers challenging intervals for powerful toned legs.
Look closely at the pictures of the Octane Fitness xR6x and xR4x and you’ll see that there are some subtle differences in the overall design of these two recumbent elliptical machines. The xR6x is the premium model with several upgrades including a step-through frame design for easy mounting, multi-grip handlebars for different hand-grip placements and stationary foot pegs to rest your legs and isolate an upper body workout.
Both the Octane Fitness xR6x and xR4x Recumbent Ellipticals feature a wide cushioned seat with backrest for comfort and both offer easy-to-use hydraulic seat height/tilt adjustment. Both offer 5 seat tilt adjustments, but the xR6x offers 20 seat height adjustments which is 5 more than the xR4x’s 15 seat height adjustments. The overall design of the seat on both machines helps to ensure correct posture while exercising, helping to open the torso and maximize the use of the hip muscles.
The Octane xR6x and xR4x both come with an easy-to-use LCD console that displays motivating workout stats as you exercise including time, speed, distance, resistance level, calories and pulse (your heart-rate is measured via built-in pulse grip sensors in the static handlebars by the side of the seat). The xR6x’s console has the added bonus of a SmartLight which the xR4x doesn’t have, which is primarily used as an intensity meter.
Sturdily built, both the Octane Fitness xR6x and xR4x Recumbent Elliptical Machines support a maximum user weight capacity of up to 300 lbs.
The Octane xR4x is the more compact and lighter-weight of the two machines with a smaller footprint (see dimensions/specifications compared in the tables below), making it ideal for home use where space is a premium. Also take note in the tables below of the slight difference in warranties offered by the manufacturer on these two machines.
