The Assault AirBike Elite is the up-graded model of the original AirBike Classic, and as such offers several improvements in design, features and specifications including:  a new monitor with an improved LCD screen, Comp Mode, Rest and Work LEDs; an integrated removable windshield (the AirBike Classic does not come with a windshield although you can purchase one separately); multiple position handgrips on its moving handlebars (the AirBike Classic has single handgrips); an ISIS splined crank system (compared to the Classic’s square-tapered crank system); an enhanced commercial steel frame.

The Assault AirBike Elite is also slightly bigger and heavier than the original AirBike Classic and supports a higher user weight capacity of 350 lbs compared to 300 lbs on the Classic.  (See full features and specifications compared in the tables below.)

The Assault AirBike Elite and Classic come with different fitness monitors but both offer a variety of programs including HIIT intervals and target programs for time, distance, calories and heart rate.  Both consoles display motivating workout stats such as time, speed, distance, RPM, Watts, calories and heart-rate.

The Assault AirBike Elite comes with a wider sports saddle compared to the Classic but both seats are fully adjustable, i.e. up, down, forwards and backwards for a custom fit for different users.

Additional features on both the Assault AirBike Elite and Classic include:  mobile phone holder integrated into console; all-metal design pedals that can be operated forwards or backwards; stationary footrest pegs to isolate an upper body workout; sealed cartridge bearings in pivot/moving parts for long-lasting durability; chain drive for an authentic feel; steel frame; corrosion resistant design; and front-mounted transport wheels for easy relocation.

Both the Assault AirBike Elite and Classic are self-powered so you don’t have to worry about finding a space near a power socket.  (The LCD monitor operates on 2x AA batteries, included.)

Reflecting the high-quality and long-lasting durability of these air fan exercise bikes, both the Assault AirBike Elite and Classic come with a commercial warranty, although the warranty differs between the two bikes (see details for each indicated in the tables below).

Comparing Lifecore Assault versus Schwinn AD Pro, Commercial Air Fan Bikes Reviewed

The commercial-grade Lifecore Assault and Schwinn AD Pro are impressive air fan bikes built with quality components for long-lasting durability.

The Lifecore Assault and Schwinn AD Pro air bikes are built to withstand intensive use at home or in a commercial gym setting.

The AD Pro is Schwinn’s latest addition to their Airdyne Range and follows the success of the Schwinn AD6 and AD2 bikes.  Retailing online at a similar price to the Schwinn AD Pro, the Lifecore Assault Air Bike has been around for a number of years and stood the test of time, proving itself to be a high quality durable machine.

Utilizing wind resistance, the Schwinn AD Pro and Lifecore Assault air bikes effectively offer unlimited resistance working on the basis that the resistance is increased as you pedal faster.  In addition, Air/fan bikes have moving handlebars so you can work your upper body at the same time as your lower body, effectively giving you a total body workout.

Both the Schwinn AD Pro and Lifecore Assault air bikes come with their own workout console that offers a variety of programs and displays your workout stats so you can keep track of your progress.  (See table below for more details.)

Take a close look at the pictures of these 2 air bikes and you’ll see that there is a difference in the overall design of the bikes, particularly with the design of the handlebars.  Schwinn has gone for a different approach with their AD Pro’s handlebar design, offering a multi-position design that allows you to place your hands either vertically or horizontally.  This unique design enables a variety of workout options, but you may prefer the feel of Lifecore Assault’s traditional styled handlebars.

Both the Schwinn AD Pro and Lifecore Assault offer adjustable seats that can be adjusted up/down and fore/aft for a custom fit.

Built to withstand higher intensity workouts and heavy-duty use, the commercial-grade Schwinn AD Pro (also referred to as AD7) is Schwinn’s top of the range Airdyne exercise bike and is suitable for use in a commercial-gym setting or home-gym.

Incorporating the latest air resistance technology, the Schwinn AD Pro AD7 Airdyne Bike delivers a total body workout that is super effective with less impact on your joints than many other forms of exercise.

The Schwinn AD Pro combines dual-action moving handlebars for an upper body workout in unison with the lower body’s cycling action.  The uniquely designed handlebars offer multi-position handles with handgrips offering flexible workouts with the choice of vertical or horizontal hand placement for a variety of workout options.

The Schwinn Airdyne AD Pro’s wind resistance technology effectively gives you unlimited resistance levels so you can work out at your own pace and keep your workouts progressively challenging.  Air/wind resistance works on the premise that the faster you pedal, the harder the resistance will be.

The AD Pro’s perimeter weighted flywheel and single-stage direct-drive belt system ensures smooth start up and consistent motion throughout.  This powerful system is whisper quiet in operation and requires little maintenance.

The Schwinn AD Pro Bike features strong splined solid steel cranks that deliver more power to the pedals.  If you prefer to focus on upper body strength you can use the anti-slip foot platforms to get a more robust push-off for more powerful leverage from your workout.

Riders of different heights/builds can feel comfortable using the Schwinn AD Pro thanks to its 4-way adjustable seat that allows you to find the most comfortable riding position.  The seat is adjustable both up and down and forwards and backwards for a custom fit.  The seat itself is large and padded for comfort, but if you prefer one of your own, the seat can easily be swapped out thanks to the bike’s universal rail and clamp system.

As you would expect from a commercial-grade bike, the Schwinn AD Pro is solidly constructed with a moisture-repellent double-coated steel frame that offers a user weight capacity of up to 350 lbs.
