The Assault AirBike Elite is the up-graded model of the original AirBike Classic, and as such offers several improvements in design, features and specifications including:  a new monitor with an improved LCD screen, Comp Mode, Rest and Work LEDs; an integrated removable windshield (the AirBike Classic does not come with a windshield although you can purchase one separately); multiple position handgrips on its moving handlebars (the AirBike Classic has single handgrips); an ISIS splined crank system (compared to the Classic’s square-tapered crank system); an enhanced commercial steel frame.

The Assault AirBike Elite is also slightly bigger and heavier than the original AirBike Classic and supports a higher user weight capacity of 350 lbs compared to 300 lbs on the Classic.  (See full features and specifications compared in the tables below.)

The Assault AirBike Elite and Classic come with different fitness monitors but both offer a variety of programs including HIIT intervals and target programs for time, distance, calories and heart rate.  Both consoles display motivating workout stats such as time, speed, distance, RPM, Watts, calories and heart-rate.

The Assault AirBike Elite comes with a wider sports saddle compared to the Classic but both seats are fully adjustable, i.e. up, down, forwards and backwards for a custom fit for different users.

Additional features on both the Assault AirBike Elite and Classic include:  mobile phone holder integrated into console; all-metal design pedals that can be operated forwards or backwards; stationary footrest pegs to isolate an upper body workout; sealed cartridge bearings in pivot/moving parts for long-lasting durability; chain drive for an authentic feel; steel frame; corrosion resistant design; and front-mounted transport wheels for easy relocation.

Both the Assault AirBike Elite and Classic are self-powered so you don’t have to worry about finding a space near a power socket.  (The LCD monitor operates on 2x AA batteries, included.)

Reflecting the high-quality and long-lasting durability of these air fan exercise bikes, both the Assault AirBike Elite and Classic come with a commercial warranty, although the warranty differs between the two bikes (see details for each indicated in the tables below).

How to Choose the Best Exercise Bike for Your Needs

If you’re thinking of buying an exercise bike, you can be overwhelmed by the amount of different bikes there are to choose from, with prices ranging between anything from under £100 up to $800+.  You may be dazzled by the amount of features a manufacturer claims to offer on their exercise bikes, such as a high number of programmable workouts or resistance levels, but there are a lot more things to consider when buying an exercise bike.

While you may be limited to the amount of money you want to spend on an exercise bike, it is important to consider factors such as the build-quality for long-lasting durability, how smoothly and quietly the bike operates, how much adjustability does the bike have in terms of user height, what the user weight ratings are, how stable and safe the bike is, and of course what warranties do the manufacturers offer on their exercise bikes.

Upright Exercise Bike, most common type of exercise bike, usually comes with a computer console with a variety of workout programs and LCD screen to track your workout statsWhen most people first think of an exercise bike, the first type of exercise bike that comes to mind is the Upright Exercise Bike.

Upright exercise bikes are the most common type of exercise bike and as the name suggests, you sit in an upright position as you pedal.

These types of bikes usually come with a computer console with an LCD display and offer a variety of workout programs to keep your workouts interesting, varied and challenging.  Your workout stats are displayed on the LCD monitor so you can keep track of your progress.

But did you know there are several other types of exercise bikes which some people may find they are better suited to?
