The AD Pro is Schwinn’s latest addition to their Airdyne Range and follows the success of the Schwinn AD6 and AD2 bikes. Retailing online at a similar price to the Schwinn AD Pro, the Lifecore Assault Air Bike has been around for a number of years and stood the test of time, proving itself to be a high quality durable machine.
Utilizing wind resistance, the Schwinn AD Pro and Lifecore Assault air bikes effectively offer unlimited resistance working on the basis that the resistance is increased as you pedal faster. In addition, Air/fan bikes have moving handlebars so you can work your upper body at the same time as your lower body, effectively giving you a total body workout.
Both the Schwinn AD Pro and Lifecore Assault air bikes come with their own workout console that offers a variety of programs and displays your workout stats so you can keep track of your progress. (See table below for more details.)
Take a close look at the pictures of these 2 air bikes and you’ll see that there is a difference in the overall design of the bikes, particularly with the design of the handlebars. Schwinn has gone for a different approach with their AD Pro’s handlebar design, offering a multi-position design that allows you to place your hands either vertically or horizontally. This unique design enables a variety of workout options, but you may prefer the feel of Lifecore Assault’s traditional styled handlebars.
Both the Schwinn AD Pro and Lifecore Assault offer adjustable seats that can be adjusted up/down and fore/aft for a custom fit.
