Another premium feature that the Nautilus R616 and Nautilus R614 bikes have is the Acoustic chambered speakers and MP3 port for big quality sound, enabling you to listen to music while you exercise.  In addition, both Nautilus bikes feature a USB charging port and media shelf so you can read a book or watch a movie or TV show on your tablet.

The Nautilus R616 is the top-of-the-line recumbent bike over the Nautilus R614 and, as you would expect for the higher end model, comes a higher price tag.  So what’s the difference between the two recumbent bikes and is it worth paying the extra $$s for the top model?

To begin with, the Nautilus R616 Recumbent Bike has more workout programs (29 compared to 22 on the R614) and more resistance levels than the R614 (25 compared to 20), plus 2 additional user profiles (4 instead of 2 on the R614).  The display screens on the Nautilus R616 are blue backlit instead of the standard display on the R614.    The Nautilus R616 also offers Bluetooth LE connectivity which the R614 does not have.  For comfort, the seat on both bikes has a ventilated lumbar back support, but the seat bottom on the Nautilus R616 is padded contoured whereas the seat bottom on the Nautilus R614 is not padded but is vented.

Both the Nautilus R616 and Nautilus R614 are well-built solid recumbent bikes with upmarket features and plenty of workout programs and resistance levels to keep your workouts varied and challenging.  The addition of the sound system, charging USB port & data exchange, media shelf, and adjustable fan make these recumbent bikes very good value for money.  For many people, the Nautilus R614 would be more than adequate for their needs.

However, if you like the idea of the extra programs and resistance levels for even more variety then opt for the Nautilus R616.  If you have more than 2 people in your household who are likely to use the bike on a regular basis, then the Nautilus R616 would also be the best bike for you as it allows up to 4 different users to track their workout progress.  In addition, for the relatively little extra cost of the Nautilus R616, you get the added bonus of Bluetooth LE connectivity and a more comfortable seat.

See what other customers who have bought either the Nautilus R616 or Nautilus R614 Recumbent Exercise Bike have to say about them:

A.P.:
“The Nautilus R616 Recumbent Bike was fairly easy to put together and took me just under an hour and a half to assemble it.  It’s a nice bike for the price.  The features are impressive and the bike stacks up well against the expensive ones I’ve used at the gym.  There’s a great variety of programs and you can keep track of your goals.  The display is nice and bright and large enough to see easily and easy to use.  The input for audio, USB charger and media holder are great for watching movies or listening to music while you exercise.  The adjustable fan helps to make your workout more comfortable.  This is a great bike for home use, better than most bikes you find in the shops, especially for the price.  It’s obviously not the build quality of an expensive gym bike but then it costs a lot less and yet it does offer similar features and benefits and I would still expect it to last for years to come.”

W.D.:
“The Nautilus R614 is a good solid quality recumbent bike.  It was easy to assemble.  Although some of the parts are plastic, the main parts are metal and it looks like it will hold up to use without any problems.  I love the seat – it’s much more comfortable than a traditional bike seat – and I appreciate the backrest too.  The sliding system for the seat allows you to get the most comfortable and correct distance from the pedals.  This bike has a great variety of programs or you can simply use the bike in manual mode.  Plus you can control how much resistance you want.  You can save workout data for more than one person plus track your progress online.  I love the plug ins for USB and sound and I can fit my iPad on the media shelf without worrying about it falling off as it’s very stable.  I am very pleased with the Nautilus R614 and expect it to last for years.”

N.B.  It’s always advisable to consult your doctor or health care professional before undertaking any new exercise regime.
