The Nautilus E616 is still a high-quality elliptical trainer with a high-speed high-inertia perimeter weighted flywheel, large articulating footplates and ergonomic handlebars.  Both elliptical trainers feature stabilizer frame levelers for added stability.

There is a difference in the maximum stride length between both these elliptical trainers, with the Nautilus E618 having a longer stride length at 22” compared to the E616’s 20”.

Both the Nautilus E618 and E616 Elliptical Trainers offer a variety of 29 workout programs and 25 ECB resistance levels.  Both elliptical machines also offer a motorized incline feature to add more challenge to your workouts and engage more muscle groups for a more effective workout.  However, the Nautilus E618 offers more incline adjustability with 0-15% compared to the E616’s 0-11% incline.  The Nautilus E618 also features quick-adjust controls in its multi-position moving handlebars for quick and easy adjustment of the incline and resistance levels.

Both the consoles on the Nautilus E618 and E616 are packed with features and have DualTrack blue-backlit LCD display, but the E618’s console is the better of the two with its STN display which is considered to be the best in the fitness industry, providing a wider viewing angle and better visual color combination that’s easier on your eyes.  The Nautilus E618’s console itself is a Sightline tilting console that can be angle-adjusted to get the best view for different rider heights.

Both the Nautilus E618 and E616 Elliptical Trainer’s consoles display motivating workout stats as you exercise including time, speed, distance, calories and heart-rate (pulse contact grip and telemetry enabled for heart-rate).  Both machines offer 4 user profiles and you can also track your data on your own smart device with the elliptical trainers’ Bluetooth connectivity, using the free Nautilus Trainer/Nautilus Connect app or partnered fitness apps like My Fitness Pal.

Additional high-end features on both the Nautilus E618 and E616 Elliptical Trainers include a USB charging port, media shelf, sound system with speakers and MP3 input, 3-speed cooling fan and water bottle holder.

Both elliptical trainers are sturdily built, but the Nautilus E618 allows for a higher user weight capacity of up to 350 lbs compared to the E616’s 300 lbs maximum user weight.

Both the Nautilus E618 and E616 Elliptical Trainers come with a generous manufacturer’s warranty, but as you would expect, the E618 Performance Series has a longer warranty to reflect its higher status (see full details in table below).

Summary:

Elliptical trainers are a great way to get fit in the comfort of your own home, engaging both the upper and lower body in a very effective low-impact workout that’s easier on your joints compared to many other types of exercise.

Both of these Nautilus elliptical trainers have plenty to offer both the beginner and more advanced athlete with plenty of scope to keep you challenged.  The E618 and E616 both have the added advantage of a motorized incline which is unusual to find on any elliptical trainer, especially at these low price points, and adds another dimension to your workouts.

For many people, the Nautilus E616 Elliptical Trainer would be more than adequate for your needs, suitable for moderate workouts with plenty of options to keep you motivated.  Plus you’ll save yourself some hard-earned $$s!

However, if you’re a more serious athlete looking for a more intensive workout, then opt for the Nautilus E618.  It’s built to withstand more of a pounding and is well-worth the extra money in the long term.
