Bowflex PR1000 versus Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym, Compared

The Bowflex PR1000 and Bowflex PR3000 Home Gyms enable you to get a total body strength workout in the comfort of your own home at an affordable price.

Both the Bowflex PR1000 and Bowflex PR3000 are high quality, well-built and versatile Home Gyms, offering a great variety of strength exercises, enabling you to strengthen the muscles in your abs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, and legs.

Featuring Bowflex’s unique patented Power Rods, both the PR1000 and PR3000 provide resistance or weight that feels as good as free weights but without the inertia or risk of injury/joint pain that’s traditionally associated with free weights.

The Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym is the higher-end model over the PR1000, and as you would expect retails at a higher price, so what are you getting for the extra cash and do you really need the extra features or is the PR1000 good enough for you?

To begin with, there is a marked difference in the build of the two Bowflex machines, with the PR1000 being a Horizontal platform which folds to save space, whereas the PR3000 is a Vertical platform.

Both of the Bowflex Home Gyms feature a 210 lbs Power Rod Resistance but the PR3000 is upgradeable up to 310 lbs whereas the PR1000 is not upgradable.

The Bowflex PR3000 offers the ability to perform more strength exercises than the PR1000 - over 50 exercises with the PR3000 compared to over 30 exercises with the PR1000.

However, the Bowflex PR1000 includes a rowing machine rail to perform cardio rows which the PR3000 does not have.

Both the Bowflex PR1000 and PR3000 Home Gyms come highly rated and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with either of them.  For many people, the Bowflex PR1000 would be more than adequate for their needs, it’s foldable to save floor space, and has the added bonus of cardio rowing.  At a much lower price than the PR3000, the Bowflex PR1000 is a steal!
However, if you’re more serious about strength training and want the extra challenge, then the Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym is the one for you with its upgradeable resistance and plenty more strength exercises.
