Both the Merit Fitness 715T and 725T utilize a 1.25 continuous horsepower / 2.25 total horsepower motor and are sturdily built with a steel frame, supporting a maximum user weight capacity of up to 250 lbs.

Although the Merit Fitness treadmills could be considered to belong to the budget treadmill range, they are built to high standards, with 10% of Merit’s products being rigorously tested to ensure they meet these high standards. While both the Merit Fitness 725T and the 715T treadmills could be considered to be more entry level machines, the 725T is slightly larger, offers 3 additional programs compared to the 715T and has a powered incline compared to the 715T’s manual incline. If you just want a treadmill for basic walking or light jogging, then the Merit Fitness 715T would be adequate. However if you want a bit more out of a treadmill, get bored easily and like the idea of extra programs then choose the Merit Fitness 725T.
