Both the Schwinn MY16 830 and Schwinn MY17 870 Treadmills feature motorized inclines for additional challenge, with the MY17 870 model offering 0-15% incline while the 830 model is slightly less at 0-12% incline.

The Schwinn MY17 870 Treadmill incorporates a more powerful motor than the MY16 830 (3.0 chp compared to 2.5 chp) and features a slightly longer running belt at 60” long compared to the 830’s 55” long belt.  Both belts are 20” wide.

The Schwinn MY17 870’s belt is also thicker (2 ply compared to 1 ply) and is constructed with more cushioning than the Schwinn MY16 830 (6 cell SoftTrack compared to 4 cell SoftTrack) providing less impact on your joints when running.

The Schwinn MY17 870 Treadmill comes with an upgraded console over the  MY16 830 - the 870 features a DualTrack display instead of the single display of the 830, and the 870 also offers Bluetooth connectivity which the 830 does not have.  Both consoles are packed with features, including a USB port, 4 user profiles, a sound system with acoustic chambered speakers with MP3 input, a 3 speed cooling fan, a built-in media shelf and dual water bottle holders.

Both treadmills offer heart-rate monitoring so you can keep within your target heart rate zone.  You can measure your heart-rate via either the built-in contact pulse grip sensors located in the handlebars or use the telemetry enabled console with a wireless heart-rate chest strap.  A chest strap is included with the Schwinn MY17 870 but not with the Schwinn MY16 830.

There’s a slight difference in the overall size and weight of these treadmills (see table below) but both the Schwinn MY16 830 and Schwinn MY17 870 are well-constructed with oversized crossbar tubing for added stability and allow for a maximum user weight capacity of up to 300 lbs.

Both treadmills feature a Soft Drop folding deck system to help save space when not in use and both feature transportation wheels for easy relocation.

Note, the main difference between the 2013 and 2016/2017 models of the Schwinn 830 and 870 Treadmills comes down to the design of the console, with the new models being designed to be more user friendly and the 2017 870 Treadmill now having Bluetooth connectivity.
