Like other WaterRowers, the Performance Ergometer is attractive to look at and designed to replicate the feel of real water rowing, but has the addition of integrated SmartRow technology with True Performance Sensor to take your rowing workout to the next level.
Instead of the traditional monitor that comes with WaterRower’s other rowing machines, the Performance Ergometer wirelessly connects via Bluetooth to the SmartRow app on your own IOS or Android device to provide much more precise and in-depth data on your rowing workout including:
· Measuring absolute force and drive length for highly precise and in-depth analysis of each stroke
· Calculating your power output
· Calculating absolute wattage applied by the user throughout each stroke
· Giving the most accurate ergometer measurement
Your rowing workout data will be displayed on your own mobile phone / tablet, including:
· Power
· Distance
· Work-per-stroke
· Calories
· Watts-per-beat
· Watts-per-kilogram
· Each force-curve
· Heart-rate graph
The SmartRow is compatible with all Bluetooth heart-rate monitoring straps (heart-rate strap available separately) for accurate heart-rate monitoring as you exercise.

Other advanced features found on the special-edition WaterRower Performance Ergometer rowing machine include a SmartRow forward riser pulley, a 17” wide upgraded rowing handle, a special “Tear Drop” footboard with professional foot straps, XL rails and a contoured seat with 4 wheels for comfort and added stability.
As with all WaterRowers, the Performance Ergometer utilizes a water flywheel, i.e. the flywheel sits in an enclosed water tank, effectively simulating resistance as with real water rowing.
You can self-regulate the resistance by rowing harder or faster to increase the drag or slower for a less intensive workout. The resistance can also be affected by adjusting the amount of water you fill the tank with.

As with all WaterRowers, there’s very little maintenance required – you’ll just need to add a purification tablet to the water tank every so often (around every 3 to 6 months).
For convenience, the WaterRower Performance Ergometer can be stored upright without having to empty out the water tank and there are front-mounted transport wheels for easy relocation.

· Replicates the precise physical dynamics of a moving boat.
· No jerkiness or jarring movements that are typically associated with mechanical rowing machines.
· Provides a uniform even stroke that spreads the work more evenly over your muscle groups, optimizing the workout benefits and reducing the risk of injury.
· Very effective workout with minimal impact on your joints as your body weight is not placed on your joints as with other forms of exercise.
· The smooth flowing action of a WaterRower can aid joint mobility.
· Whole body workout – rowing uses 84% of your body’s muscle mass from the tips of your fingers (holding the oars/handles) to the balls of your feet (connected to the footboard) and all the muscles in-between these points are engaged in the rowing action.
· Rowing with a WaterRower is kinder to your body and helps to relax the mind.
· Quiet rowing machine with just the relaxing sound of “whooshing” water as you row.
